Getting started
-
What’s included in the box?
Your kit includes the wearable pump set and the core accessories needed to assemble, wear, use, and clean it. Always confirm all parts are present before first use.
-
How do I assemble the pump?
Assemble the milk-contact parts first (shield/flange, inserts if used, valve/diaphragm, container), then attach to the motor unit. Make sure every silicone part sits flat with no folds.
-
Do I need to wash it before first use?
Yes. Wash and sanitize/sterilize all milk-contact parts before first use, then fully dry before assembling.
-
Can I use the pump without the app?
You can use basic pumping functions without the app (depending on your model), but the app unlocks the best experience—control, visibility, and session convenience.
-
How do I connect the pump to the app?
Enable Bluetooth on your phone, open the app, turn the pump on, then follow the in-app pairing flow. If it doesn’t connect, see “App & connectivity troubleshooting.”
Fit, flange sizing & comfort
-
How do I know my flange size?
Your nipple should move freely in the tunnel without rubbing, while minimal areola is pulled in. If you feel friction, pain, or see whitening, you’re likely too small or too large.
-
How do I measure flange size at home?
Measure nipple diameter (not areola) when not pumping. Choose a size that fits comfortably and centers the nipple. If you’re between sizes, comfort wins.
-
Can my left and right flange sizes be different?
Yes—very common. Many moms use different sizes on each side.
-
What are signs my flange size is wrong?
Pain, pinching, redness, swelling, low output, nipple rubbing, or the nipple pulling too far into the tunnel.
-
Can I use nipple cream or lubricant?
A small amount of breastfeeding-safe lubricant can reduce friction. If you’re unsure, consult a lactation professional.
-
Do I need a special bra?
No—use a supportive nursing bra that holds the pump firmly against your breast. Loose bras often cause leaks or weak suction.
-
How tight should the bra be?
Tight enough to keep a solid seal, not so tight that it compresses breast tissue uncomfortably.
Pumping: sessions, modes & suction
-
Can I adjust suction?
Yes. There are 9 levels for each mode. Start low and increase gradually to the highest comfortable level. Stronger isn’t always better—comfort supports let-down.
-
What suction level should I use?
Use the highest setting that remains comfortable and never painful. If pain occurs, stop, check fit, and restart lower.
-
Does the pump have stimulation and expression modes?
Wearable pumps typically start with a faster rhythm (stimulation) and move into a slower rhythm (expression). Use what feels effective and comfortable.
-
How long should I pump per session?
Follow your clinician’s guidance. Many moms aim for a complete, comfortable session rather than chasing time.
-
Does the pump automatically shut off?
Yes—your pump includes an auto shut-off as a safety and battery-saving feature.
-
Can I pump on one side and breastfeed on the other?
Yes. Many moms do this. Use a supportive bra and make sure the pumping side maintains a good seal while feeding.
-
Can I move around while pumping?
Yes. Wearable pumps are designed for gentle movement. For best seal and comfort, avoid bending fully forward or sudden movements until you know your typical leak threshold.
-
Can I talk, work, or do light tasks while pumping?
Yes—this is a core benefit. If suction drops while moving, check bra support and flange alignment.
Milk collection, transfer & storage
-
How do I remove the pump after a session?
Pause/stop first, then carefully break the seal (don’t pull straight off), and remove from your bra slowly to avoid spills.
-
How do I transfer milk from the pump container?
Keep the container upright. Open/pour slowly into your chosen bottle. If your kit includes a pour spout or adapter, use it to reduce spills.
-
Can I transfer into Nanobébé bottles?
Yes—transfer into your Nanobébé bottle system (including silicone options) as part of your feeding workflow.
-
Can I store milk in the pump container?
It’s best practice to transfer milk to a storage container/bottle and refrigerate promptly. If you do store short-term, keep the container sealed and upright, and remove it from the motor unit.
-
How should I store breast milk safely?
Follow your local health authority guidance for fridge/freezer storage times. Label with date/time, and use oldest first.
-
Can I mix fresh milk with chilled milk?
Best practice is to cool fresh milk first before combining with already chilled milk.
-
Do not refreeze thawed milk.
Once thawed, follow safe-use guidance and do not refreeze.
Cleaning, sanitizing & sterilizing
-
Which parts need washing after every use?
All parts that contact milk: flange/shield, valve/diaphragm, container, adapters/spouts. The motor unit should not be submerged.
-
How do I clean the motor unit?
Wipe with a clean, slightly damp cloth. Keep charging ports and electronics dry.
-
Can I put pump parts in the dishwasher?
If your parts are dishwasher-safe: place on top rack only. Always check your official user guide for part-specific instructions.
-
How do I sanitize/sterilize parts?
Use a sterilizer method approved in your guide (boiling/steam/cold-water sterilizing). Avoid excessive heat exposure beyond recommended times to prevent warping.
-
How do I dry parts correctly?
Air-dry completely on a clean drying rack. Moisture can reduce suction and increase residue buildup.
-
Why is drying so important?
Even small water droplets can reduce seal/suction and lead to leaking.
Replacing parts & maintenance
-
How often should I replace accessories (valves/diaphragms)?
Replace based on wear or performance changes: reduced suction, stretching, tears, cloudiness, or persistent leaking. Heavy use may require more frequent replacement.
-
What are signs a valve needs replacing?
Weak suction, milk backflow, frequent leaks, or visible warping/tears.
-
How should I store the pump between sessions?
Store dry parts in a clean, shaded place. Avoid leaving silicone parts in direct sunlight.
-
Long-term storage tips
Clean and fully dry parts. Store the pump and accessories protected from heat and direct sunlight. Charge the unit occasionally per battery best practices.
Battery & charging
-
How do I charge the pump?
Use the included charging cable and a safe power source. Avoid using while charging unless your guide explicitly allows it.
-
How long does charging take?
Charging time depends on power source and battery state. Use a standard high-quality adapter and cable.
-
Can I use any charging cable/adapter?
Use the cable provided or a verified equivalent that matches the required output to protect the battery and electronics.
-
The pump won’t turn on—what should I do?
Charge for a while, then retry. If no response, try a different power source/cable and check for debris in the port.
Leaks & fit issues
-
Why is my pump leaking?
Most common causes: poor seal (bra too loose), misaligned nipple, overfilled container, leaning forward too much, or wet parts.
-
How do I prevent leaks?
Ensure correct flange size; fully dry parts; tighten bra support; stay more upright; don’t exceed the container capacity.
-
Milk is backing up toward the motor—help
Stop immediately, disassemble, clean milk-contact parts, and keep the motor dry. Reassemble carefully and verify valves/seals are placed correctly.
No suction / weak suction
-
Why do I have no suction?
Common causes: valve not seated, torn silicone, parts not fully snapped in, wet parts, flange mismatch, or a bra that’s too loose.
-
Quick “no suction” checklist
- Confirm all parts are fully assembled and clicked in
- Check valve/diaphragm orientation
- Dry everything completely
- Re-center nipple
- Tighten bra support
- Restart at low suction and increase slowly
-
Suction feels weaker on one side
Check that side’s flange size, seal alignment, and that the valve isn’t stretched or deformed.
Pain, discomfort & safety
-
Pumping hurts—what do I do?
Stop. Pain is not normal. Recheck flange size, suction level, and nipple alignment. Restart lower. If pain continues, consult a lactation professional.
-
Can pumping damage my nipples?
Incorrect sizing or too-high suction can cause irritation. Proper fit and comfortable suction protect nipple tissue.
-
Who should not use the pump without medical advice?
Anyone with specific medical conditions, implanted devices, or pregnancy-related concerns should consult a clinician first.
-
Can more than one person use the pump?
For hygiene and safety, wearable breast pumps are intended for single-user use.
Noise & vibration
-
Is it normal that the pump makes a sound?
Yes. All pumps make some operational sound. If you hear a new rattling or high-pitched change, check assembly and parts.
-
The pump is louder than before—why?
Often caused by loose assembly, a worn valve, or a part not seated properly. Reassemble and inspect silicone parts.
App & connectivity
-
The app can’t find my pump—what now?
- Make sure Bluetooth is on
- Keep the pump close to the phone
- Close and reopen the app
- Restart the pump
- Restart your phone if needed
-
The app disconnects during a session
Bluetooth signal can drop. Keep your phone nearby and avoid switching between multiple Bluetooth devices mid-session.
-
Can I use the pump on more than one phone?
Typically yes, via app login/account flow—use one at a time to avoid pairing conflicts.
Troubleshooting: quick answers
-
Milk output is lower than expected
Check flange size, suction comfort, hydration/stress, time since last session, and seal quality. Output varies widely—consistency matters.
-
One side produces less
Normal. Fit may differ side-to-side. Try different flange sizes and re-check alignment.
-
I see condensation
This can happen. Dry all parts after cleaning and ensure airflow during drying.
-
I see residue or cloudiness
Soak and wash thoroughly; replace parts that remain cloudy, cracked, or warped.
